Educational Minecraft Courses

Minecraft Java StoryWorld class where students build sustainable villages through the exploration of renewable energy and redstone.

  • Students will learn about renewable energy sources, biomes, biodiversity and the ideas surrounding sustainable design thinking 7 generations ahead.

Students will apply redstone schematics to conceptualizing the storage and generation of renewable energy.

Students will learn how to build a StoryWorld in the context of surviving a catastrophic natural disaster.

Students will be able to create a protagonist that generates empathy for their situation.

Minecraft survival world where students will tackle the idea of protecting and embracing our environment and natural ecosystems.

  • In this advanced version of our best-selling educational Minecraft course "The Sustainability Lab", students will tackle the ideas of protecting and embracing our environment and natural ecosystems, with the added difficulty of playing in the Survival Minecraft game mode! Students will join our server where they'll be tasked with finding food, water, and shelter, all while being conscious of their environmental impact. Our Minecraft classroom will automatically interpret and react to any positive or negative environmental effects that players create, so students will need to be mindful of their resource usage and sustainable practices.

A one-time 30 minute Minecraft course where students play the Sustainability Maze! A great way to introduce students to game-based learning.

  • The Sustainability Maze in Minecraft is a fun way to introduce students to game-based learning, thematic room design and sustainability.

Each Sustainability Maze generates a unique modular maze that students navigate and can help each other. Thematic rooms and puzzles make this a highly engaging introduction to Infinite Mind Pictures & game-based learning in Minecraft!

Our discussions before and after playing the game will reflect student interests in a wide variety of topics.

Learners will engineer a starship that could sustain an intergenerational trip to another galaxy...and Beyond!

  • Initiate the project with empathy, where students take care of a Minecraft animal to start

Design redstone circuitry to demonstrate powering the vehicle with renewable energy

Create food, water and air systems to sustain life

    Design interiors using color theory

Design governance, justice and education systems to build collaborative decision making

Create artistic venues to experience storytelling, music, and dance

The sequel to your amazing starship design - where students have more choices of Minecraft creative mode builds required for an intergenerational starship to thrive!

  • Initiate the project with empathy, where students return to their taking care of a Minecraft animal

Design redstone circuitry to power multiple parts of the ship with renewable energy

Create and maintain food, water and air systems to sustain life

    Design using color theory

Engage in collaborative decision making through Space Station builds

Create artistic venues to experience storytelling, music, and dance

Learner-directed course where current advances in science, technology, and anything that affects our entire planet are integrated into Minecraft builds

The official Sustainability summer camp! Enjoy 5 days of friendly learning through the lens of sustainability in Minecraft Java.

  • (Day 1) "E." is for "Empathize"

Students are immersed in the StoryWorld of "Sam the Enderman" - a cautionary tale of a dimension gone wrong with climate change. Then students are quickly put into creative mode where they build a shelter for their E.A.R.T.H. Knight protagonist and special animal - both who have fled a disaster. This teaches "empathy for the protagonist" - a key starting point for many movies.

(Day 2) "A." is for "Adventure"

Students have a short time in creative mode to build a bunker where they will have to survive a new disaster in adventure mode (and possibly a Zombie invasion)! Life Skills such as hydration, nutrition and self-defense will be explored in bunker creation.

(Day 3) "R." is for "Renewables"

In the aftermath of the Day 2 disaster, students return to creative mode and engineer a renewable energy system, either as decorative builds or fully functioning redstone circuits. This emphasizes numeracy skills, logic and the physics of energy systems.

(Day 4) "T." is for "Trade Fair"

Students engage in trade with others, and build banners to represent their sustainable villages in exchanges of their own designs of Fairtrade products or prosocial services. Youth Justice is an optional exploration.

Economics and ecosystems are explored through the metaphor of "Doughnut Economics" where a sprinkle doughnut discovers balance between the ecological ceiling and social equity.

(Day 5) "H." is for "Highlight!"

The cinematic journey of the Learner as Protagonist is highlighted by MOVIE KNIGHT! Each student revisits their 5 days of friendly learning through storyboarded "movie moments" that automatically populate into their personal certificate of learning. It's also a great time to take to the dance floor (both virtually and in reality) and celebrate our amazing week together!
